let's learn and grow together!

Lakeside offers a variety of spiritual formation and educational opportunities for people of all ages.

See the list below for our ongoing groups and events,

and watch the Current Events page for weekly updates.

  • Family resource packet 1

During the COVID-19 crisis, when we cannot meet for worship and activities, we will offer resources and ideas so that families can worship, learn, create, and serve from home. The resource packet for the weeks of March 29 and April 5 can be found here.

  • Sunday morning bible study

Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m.  See the list to the right for classes and locations.

  • Adult Small Group studies

Adult small groups meet on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.  See the link to the right for the most current small group study information.

  • Meditation group

The Meditation Group meets on Thursdays at noon in the Parlor of the Education Building.

The Psalmist says: "Be still and know that I am God." One way to experience this oneness is through the practice of meditation or centered prayer. When we pray sincerely, we are open to being changed by the very act of prayer itself. Thus the essence of meditation is learning to stand back from ourselves and allow God to come to the forefront of our life.

  • Vacation Bible School

Lakeside's children and volunteers join with those from Church of the Good Shepherd, First Presbyterian, St. Andrew's Episcopal, and West Haven Presbyterian each June for a Community VBS.  Lakeside hosts this week of Bible stories, music, games, crafts, and friendship building every third year. Registration information is posted on the home page in the early spring.

  • Turnage Speaker Series

  • Godwin Library

Located in the Education Building, just off Sugg Foyer, the Godwin Library offers a variety of resources for education and information, including biblical references, Lakeside historical materials, and a book exchange. It is open before and after Sunday School each Sunday morning and can be utilized during the week by contacting the church office.  The Godwin Library is dedicated in memory of Reverend Clarence Godwin, who served as Lakeside's first pastor from 1955-65.
