Christian education, spiritual formation, fellowship and missions involvement are seen as life-long endeavors at Lakeside. Opportunities for fostering development in these areas include:
*Adult small group Bible studies and book studies which meet on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings in fall, winter and spring. These studies are facilitated by the Associate Minister in a discussion format which encourages the involvement and input of all members of the group. Click here for more detailed information about Adult Small Groups.
*A meditation group is offered each Thursday at noon in the Parlor of the Education Building and is led by Amy Shortt.
*Special events and emphases during the seasons of Advent and Lent, including prayer services, devotional guides written by members of the congregation, and evening seminars.
*Women's Circles which meet on a monthly basis for fellowship and missions involvement. Each Circle determines its own focus and mission projects. Some of these projects include assisting children and families in need, visitation to homebound church members, Backpack Buddies at Benvenue Elementary School, and Salvation Army Bell Ringing. Click here for more information about our Women's Circles.
*Supper Groups help to encourage fellowship and build relationships outside our regular church activities. Groups are made up of eight to ten people who take turns hosting a meal in their homes or at a local restaurant. The groups are reorganized each fall by Laura O'Neal who coordinates the program. *Monthly church-wide fellowship meals.
*A wide variety of missions and ministry projects to the Rocky Mount community
