Vacation Bible School
Learn about The Adventures of David!
Through Bible stories, music, crafts, and games, this year’s Vacation Bible School will help children explore how God worked through a shepherd boy to lead God’s people.
The Church of the Good Shepherd will host this year’s VBS June 11-15 from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day for children ages 3 (and potty trained) through completed fifth grade.

Early Bird registration for members of Lakeside Baptist, Church of the Good Shepherd, First Presbyterian, St. Andrew's Episcopal, and West Haven Presbyterian Churches ends April 15. After this date, registration will be open to the community and classes may fill up!
For many years, Lakeside has been a part of a community Vacation Bible School along with Church of the Good Shepherd, First Presbyterian, St. Andrew's Episcopal, and West Haven Presbyterian Churches. Our children as well as adult volunteers enjoy sharing this time of learning and fun with friends from neighboring churches. The participating churches host VBS on a rotating basis.
Our goal is to engage our children in learning Biblical stories and applying those truths in an active life of faith. Each year, our VBS offering is designated for a local ministry. Some of those ministries have included Down East Partnership for Children, SWIM Network, Tar River Mission Clinic, Bassett Center, My Sister's House, United Community Ministries, and POF-FIGS.
VBS typically registers approximately 120 children, ages three through fifth grade. Youth in grades six through twelve serve as assistants for classrooms and activiites. Each day is organized in a rotation model which includes Opening Worship, Bible Stories, Music, Crafts, Recreation and Refreshments.
Special thanks to Ivan Price for his design of this year's VBS logo.
